Praz Bansi Wins Second Bracelet
Praz Bansi has won the UK’s first WSOP bracelet of 2010 in a $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event. Bansi overcame a mammoth 2,092 players to claim his second bracelet and the $515,501 first prize. This win means that Bansi is the only UK player to ever win two WSOP bracelets in Las Vegas* and reaffirms his status as one of the world’s best tournament players.
Current PokerPlayer UK Player of the year Bansi claimed his first bracelet in a $1,000 No Limit Hold’em event in 2006 and has had some tremendous results since including a win in the first ever GUKPT, 18th place in this year’s PCA and 3rd in the 2009 WSOPE main event. This latest win takes his total tournament winnings to $2,345,276.
Bansi was railed by top UK stars including Sam Trickett, Karl Mahrenholz and James Akenhead on his way to victory and no doubt there will be some fireworks in Las Vegas tonight as the celebrations begin.
Congratulations to Praz from everyone at PokerPlayer.co.uk – and hopefully this is the first of many UK WSOP bracelets this summer!
*PokerStars pro JP Kelly also has two WSOP bracelets but one of those was at the World Series of Poker Europe.
