New Star Carter Phillips
21-year-old American Carter Phillips has announced himself as one of the world’s best young players with a WSOP bracelet victory in event #16, $1,500 No Limit Hold’em, good for $482,774. Phillips first exploded onto the poker scene in September 2009 when he bested UK pro Marc Goodwin heads-up to win EPT Barcelona for a huge €850,000 first prize.
With his first bracelet win Phillips is now just a WPT title away from the prestigious poker triple crown of EPT, WPT and WSOP titles – only Gavin Griffin and Roland de Wolfe have so far achieved that astounding feat.
